Как формулировать задания для инструмента «Объясни мне»
The «Explain me» tool is designed for one task: you formulate a topic and indicate the audience or experience level, and you receive an explanation with an example and a short comprehension check. All interaction happens through two text fields: «Your text or idea» and «Audience or experience level». There are no complex settings, styles or presets here — the level, depth and style you set in words. In this article we'll break down how to compose an assignment so the result is useful, and what limitations are important to consider.

«Explain me» is a web form with two fields. In the first field you enter text or an idea up to 8000 characters, in the second — an audience description or experience level up to 1000 characters. Then you choose the output language, press the Generate button and get one result in a separate panel. The ready text can be copied or downloaded in TXT format. There are no additional setting panels, sliders or style presets in the interface.
From this follows the main rule: everything you want to get must be described in text. If you need an explanation «in simple words», «with formulas» or «in three paragraphs», it must be written directly in the assignment. The tool does not guess your preferences and does not automatically adapt to them.
It is also important to remember that model answers may contain errors, and queue and service availability may change. Therefore, the result should be perceived as a draft explanation that you check yourself.
Example assignment: «Explain what photosynthesis is, for a 6th grade student. Provide an example with a houseplant and ask one comprehension question.»
Field «Your text or idea»: what to write
This field is the main one. Here you indicate the topic, and also, if desired, context: why you need an explanation, what you already know, which aspects of the topic are important. The more specific the formulation, the more accurate the answer. Instead of «tell about electricity» better write «explain how an electric circuit works, for a person without a technical background».
The field accepts up to 8000 characters, so you can give a detailed description. But do not overload it: excess details can divert the tool. Try to highlight the main thing: what to explain, at what level, with what example.
If the topic is complex, break it down into parts and generate the explanation in parts. For example, first ask to explain the general concept, then — a separate aspect. So the answers will be more focused.
«I am preparing a biology lesson for 8th grade. Explain how the immune system works, using a fortress analogy. Provide an example with vaccination and ask one comprehension question.»
Field «Audience or experience level»: how to indicate the level
The second field up to 1000 characters helps the tool select the depth and language of the explanation. Indicate not only age or class, but also the preparation level: «beginner without a technical background», «first-year student», «specialist familiar with the basics». This affects the choice of terms and complexity of examples.
If the audience is mixed, describe it: «adults without specialized knowledge». If the explanation is needed for yourself, honestly indicate your level: «I know the basics, but I don't understand the details». This will help avoid both too simple and too complex answers.
You should not write just «for everyone» — such a formulation does not give the tool a reference point. Better to choose a specific starting point.
«Audience: 9th grade students who know basic physics concepts but are not familiar with formulas.»
How to describe purpose and expected result
By default the tool outputs an explanation, example and short comprehension check. But you can clarify which particular aspect of the topic is important: causes, consequences, comparison, practical application. Formulate the purpose with verbs: «explain», «compare», «describe», «provide an example».
If you need a specific volume, indicate it: «up to 300 words», «briefly, in two paragraphs». If you need a special style — «in simple words», «in academic style» — also write this. The tool has no presets, so all wishes are expressed in text.
Remember that the tool does not give personalized advice in medicine, finance or law. Its task is educational explanation. Instead of «should I invest in stocks» ask «explain what portfolio diversification is, for a beginner».
«Explain how a solar panel works, for a beginner. Provide a household example and ask a comprehension question. Answer in Russian, up to 250 words.»
Tool limitations that are important to consider
«Explain me» works only with text. It does not generate images, audio or video, does not perform internet search and does not check facts. Answers may contain errors, so they need to be verified by reliable sources. The tool does not support document upload, OCR, batch processing, automatic saving, integration and publication.
No registration and premium plan. Everything you can do is enter text, choose language, press the Generate button and get one result. It can be copied or downloaded in TXT. Maximum length of the first field — 8000 characters, second — 1000 characters. If the request exceeds the limit, it will not be accepted.
Do not ask the tool to format the answer as a Word or PDF document — export is available only in TXT. Do not expect it to remember previous requests: history is not saved, so copy the desired answers immediately.
Unsuitable request: «Make audio with explanation and send to email». Suitable: «Explain the topic in text form, without images and sound.»
Examples of successful and unsuccessful assignments
An unsuccessful assignment is usually too short or not specific. For example: «Explain the theory of relativity». There is no indication of audience, purpose and format. The tool may give either too complex text, or superficial. There is also no request for an example and comprehension check, although they can be added by default.
A successful assignment contains context, purpose and limitations. For example: «I am a first-year physics student, I want to understand special relativity at a basic level. Explain the main ideas: postulates, relativity of simultaneity and time dilation. Provide an example with a train and a light flash. Ask one comprehension question. Answer in Russian, up to 400 words, without formulas.»
Compare: in a successful assignment it is indicated who you are, what you already know, what exactly needs to be explained, what example to provide and how to check understanding. This allows the tool to focus and give a more relevant answer.
Unsuccessful: «Tell about immunity». Successful: «Explain how the immune system works, for a 9th grade student. Provide an example with vaccination and ask a question: why after vaccination may the temperature rise? Answer in Russian, up to 300 words.»
How to check the result and what to do with errors
After receiving the answer check if it matches your assignment: what audience, is there an example, is a comprehension question set. If something is missing, clarify the assignment and generate again. The tool does not learn from your edits, but you can manage it through text.
If the explanation is too complex, write «explain simpler, for a beginner». If there are not enough examples — «provide two examples». If the answer cuts off, perhaps the generation limit has been reached: break the topic into parts and request them separately.
Remember that the tool does not guarantee faultlessness. Facts, numbers and definitions should be verified by reliable sources. Do not use it for obtaining personalized medical, financial or legal recommendations.
Check: «Does the explanation correspond to 6th grade level? Is there an example with a plant? Is a comprehension question asked? If not, clarify the assignment and generate again.»
An exact assignment for the «Explain me» tool is a combination of topic, audience, purpose and limitations. Indicate the preparation level, desired volume, need for an example and comprehension check. Avoid vague formulations and don't ask for what the tool cannot do: image, audio or video generation, access to external sources, DOCX or PDF export, batch processing, automatic saving, integration, OCR in the proofreader, settings panels, highlighting changes, special comparison modes, direct publishing, email delivery, document upload, premium plan, registration, speech voice cloning, photorealistic image generation or audio/video generation. Remember that responses may contain errors, so verify facts. Use the tool for educational explanations, not for personalized advice in finance, medicine or law. Following these recommendations, you will be able to receive more useful explanations and better understand complex topics.
