Notes Creator: how to get a structured summary from text
Notes Creator is a tool that transforms source text into a structured summary: it highlights definitions, key points and connections between them. It comes in handy when you need to quickly get a study framework from an article, lecture or chapter. The result directly depends on what you feed as input and how you formulate the task. In this guide we’ll cover how to prepare the source material, what to write in the duration field, how to check the ready summary and what limitations the tool has. All examples below are educational and fictional; they are needed only to illustrate the approach.

Notes Creator accepts source material in a text field and creates a structured summary with definitions, key points and connections based on it. The interface has two fields: source material and duration or length. The first field is limited to 8000 characters, the second to 1000 characters. You choose the output language, press the Generate button and get one result in a separate panel. The result can be copied or downloaded as a plain text TXT file.
It is important to understand the tool's limits. Notes Creator does not upload documents, does not recognize text from images, does not work in batch mode and does not save results automatically. It does not publish the summary directly and does not send it by e-mail. Export is available only in TXT. This means that preparing the source text and final checking remain your responsibility.
The tool does not guarantee flawlessness: model responses may contain inaccuracies, and queue availability may vary. Therefore the summary should be perceived as a draft structure, not as ready-made study material. Your task is to provide good input and check the output.
Example request: source text about photosynthesis, duration «10 minutes», output language — Russian.
How to prepare the source text
The most common reason for a failed summary is a poor source. If you paste phrase fragments, text with typos, a mixture of several topics or material without logical connections, Notes Creator has nothing to build the structure on. It will pick random fragments and lose the main point.
Another extreme — too long and dense text. The first field limit is 8000 characters, and if you fit an entire chapter with many secondary details into it, the summary will be superficial. Better to split the material into meaning blocks and process them separately, then collect a general summary manually.
Practical rule: before inserting remove duplicates, fix obvious typos, make sure the text is devoted to one topic. If the material has terms, check that they are written consistently. The cleaner the input, the more accurate definitions and links in the summary.
Bad: «photosynthesis is a process ... light ... energy ... chlorophyll ... something else about breathing». Better: a coherent paragraph about photosynthesis with a clear definition and a list of stages.
How to formulate the task and duration
The «duration or length» field is often understood literally and anything can be written there: «in detail», «briefly», «urgently». These are vague requirements, and the tool interprets them as it sees fit. If you need a summary for 10 minutes of reading, indicate: «10 minutes». If you need a character volume, indicate a number of characters.
Another mistake — expecting Notes Creator to guess the purpose on its own. It does not know whether you are preparing for an exam, writing a lesson plan or making a cheat sheet. Formulate the task directly in the source text: «highlight definitions», «show relationships between concepts», «make three levels: definition, key points, examples».
Do not mix incompatible requirements in one request: «make as brief as possible and include all details». This will lead to a compromise result that will not satisfy either by volume or by depth. Choose a priority and state it explicitly.
Instead of «make it good» write: «Summary for 10 minutes of reading, highlight definitions and links, no examples needed».
How to preserve definitions and links
Notes Creator is able to highlight definitions, key points and relationships between them, but only if these elements exist in the source text. If the material is a continuous stream without explicit definitions and logical transitions, the summary will be a flat list.
To help the tool, add markers in the source: «definition», «cause», «consequence», «example», «comparison». This does not guarantee an ideal structure, but noticeably increases the chances of neat links. If there are formulas or schemes in the text, describe them sequentially.
When checking the result, look not only at the list of points, but also at whether relationships are preserved. If in the source there was «A affects B», but in the summary only «A» and «B» remained separately, the link is lost. This is a signal to rephrase the source fragment and regenerate.
Source: «Light energy is absorbed by chlorophyll, therefore sugar synthesis is started». The summary should preserve the link «light absorption → sugar synthesis».
How to fix an unsuccessful result
If the summary turned out not as expected, do not rush to change the tool. First, determine exactly what is wrong: definitions lost, links confused, too much water, wrong language. Then make a targeted correction in the source text and regenerate. One edit at a time helps understand what exactly affected the result.
A useful trick — reduce the source to one meaning block and see how the tool handles it. If the summary is good on a short fragment, the problem was in volume or heterogeneity. If even on a short fragment it is bad, rephrase definitions and links more explicitly.
Remember, Notes Creator gives one result at a time and does not store history. Save successful versions manually in TXT. Do not try to get an ideal result on the first try: two or three iterations are usually enough, if the source is prepared carefully.
First version lost the definition. Add a separate sentence «Photosynthesis is a process...» in the source and regenerate.
How to check the ready summary
Checking starts from the source. Go through the summary and mark whether all definitions from the text are in place, whether their meaning is distorted, whether key links are preserved. If something is missing, return to the source text and clarify the wording.
Then check factual accuracy. The model may make mistakes, so verify numbers, dates, names and terms with a reliable source. The summary is a structure, not a replacement for the original source. If a statement appears in the summary that was not in the source, this is a reason to regenerate the result.
Finally, evaluate practical use. The summary should help quickly recall the material: definitions separately, key points separately, links clearly. If the structure hinders rather than helps, simplify the requirements and try again. Remember that model answers may contain errors and service availability may change.
Checklist: are all definitions in place? links preserved? numbers verified? no extra statements? is it convenient to repeat from this summary?
Limitations and reasonable expectations
Notes Creator cannot upload documents, recognize text from images, work with audio and video, do batch processing and automatically save results. Export only in TXT. No registration, premium plan, integrations or direct publication. This is important to consider when planning work.
The tool does not generate photorealistic images and does not create audio or video. If you need illustrations, that is a separate task. Notes Creator works with text and outputs text. Everything else — beyond its capabilities.
Finally, do not expect guaranteed quality. The model may make mistakes and the queue may be unavailable. Use Notes Creator as an accelerator of draft structure, not as a source of truth. Final responsibility for accuracy lies with the human.
If you need PDF, you will have to manually convert TXT — PDF export is not provided in the tool.
Notes Creator is useful when the source text is clean, requirements are specific and the result is verified. Main errors — weak source, vague requirements and blind trust in the first version. They are easily fixed: prepare material, specify volume and goal, check definitions and links, save successful versions in TXT. Remember the limitations: text only, TXT export only, no document upload and no guarantees. Examples in the article are educational and fictional, they show the approach, not real results. Such a work process gives a neat summary and saves time.
