Copy a video post link
Open the video in Instagram and find Copy link in its sharing menu. The menu wording can differ between app versions. On a computer, open the individual post and copy its browser address. A link to the creator’s profile identifies an account, so it cannot select the video you want.
Find the available MP4 files
Open the video downloader, paste the complete address and choose Find files. Keep the page open while Instagram responds. After the search, check the preview and author so you do not download the wrong post. A post with several videos will display separate media cards; each has its own download button.
Choose quality without false promises
If several source versions are returned, choose the resolution that suits your screen and storage. A higher pixel count can mean a larger file, but it does not recover detail missing from the upload. Savevia passes on the source file without adding its own watermark or converting a small video into artificial 4K.
Save and verify the download
Press Download on the chosen video. Check your browser’s download list and wait for the transfer to finish before closing the page. Play the saved file to verify both the picture and sound. An Instagram bookmark keeps a post in your account; it does not place an MP4 file in your device’s downloads folder.
If an Instagram video will not download
Check that the post still exists and is publicly accessible. Private posts and content requiring login are not supported. Instagram may also temporarily restrict server access to an otherwise public post. If a generated link has expired after 20 minutes, search for the original post again. For a rate-limit message, wait before retrying instead of repeatedly submitting the same link.
