Choose a suitable original

Use an image with a flat background and a subject whose colors differ from it. Gradients, shadows and similar subject colors make the result harder to separate.

This tool uses a local color-distance mask. It removes colors close to the estimated background rather than recognizing the object with AI segmentation.

  2. Check the background is simple.

Inspect the processed image

Run background removal and look at the object edges. Check whether a pale area of the subject disappeared or a shadow remained around it.

The processing runs in the browser without sending the image to a model. Its local operation does not make the color separation perfect.

Save and test the PNG

Download the result as a PNG with transparency. Check it on light and dark backgrounds in your page or image editor.

If the result loses subject detail, try a better original or a separate detailed editor. Repeating the same color-based operation may not solve a complex background.
