Start with a public post link
In Instagram, open the post or Reel you want to save and copy its sharing link. Open Savevia in Safari on iPhone or Chrome on Android, paste the address and select Find files. Preview the returned media and press Download for the chosen item. Keep the tab open while the file is transferring.
Find downloads on iPhone
In Safari, check the Downloads control near the address field after saving a file. You can also open the Files app and look in Downloads; the location may be iCloud Drive or local device storage, depending on your settings. A file saved there does not automatically become a Photos-library item. Open it first, then use an available sharing or saving action if needed.
Find downloads on Android
In Chrome, open the browser menu and choose Downloads to check completion. The phone’s Files app can also show downloaded items. Open the MP4 video or image from that list. The exact file-manager name and folder view vary by manufacturer, so start with Chrome’s own list if the gallery does not show your file.
If the file opens instead of downloading
Some browsers or embedded app browsers display a video or image in a new tab. Use their available download, save or share action rather than assuming that opening the preview saved a file. If the embedded browser provides no file controls, open Savevia in a full browser and repeat the search. Preview playback itself is not a completed download.
Fix common mobile download problems
Check free space, a stable connection and any request to allow multiple downloads. Save a carousel one file at a time if batch downloads are blocked. A temporary link expires after 20 minutes; run the original post search again for a fresh link. Private posts, removed media and source login restrictions remain unsupported on both iPhone and Android.
